React Native or Flutter will serve you far better. That's what it's like to develop on an unpopular platform. Imagine a new feature comes out on the OS and nobody is interested in adding support for it to your chosen platform, so you simply can't use it. Imagine wanting to learn a new feature and there are no tutorials available. Imagine coming across a strange issue, you google it, and you can't find an answer on stack overflow from someone else. Frankly learning a new language syntax js not challenging, it's the platform that takes time and the web devs won't have any knowledge of that. I've seen cases where dev shops go with Xamarin because "the web devs know C#". That will give you an idea of how truly unpopular Xamarin is. The look for React Native or just native job postings.
